Iran nomad discovery | Nomad Tour

38 Days and 37 Nights
Trip Code: I-CNOWS0-C-38-15-R
  • Overview
    • One of the unique cultural events shaped from ancient times to the present has been well-organized immigration of nomadic tribes with the aim of reaching rich pastures for their livestock and fair weather for their convenience. Around 60% of the country lands are the paths taken by emigrant nomads; In spite of efforts made to make nomads settled, fortunately, there are still about a million people living in nomadic tribes. They are mostly, two very large nomadic tribes, i.e. Bakhtiari, Qashqa’i and etc.. In general, the Bakhtiari as the largest tribe spans southward from Lorestan to Khuzestan province and westward from Isfahan to near the Iraqi border. Their migratory and arduous journey can normally last for several weeks as it takes roughly 45 days for the Qashqa’i where they have to take impassable paths to off the beaten tracks. As a matter of fact, they are as rich in culture as they are in hospitality. Thanks to these very points, it will be worth endeavoring to spend a period of time with these extremely hospitable and traditional people. The skills of whom ranges from heading in the right direction and producing handicrafts to breed and ride horses. They are renowned for their intricately woven rugs known as Gabeh. After centuries nomads have kept their own style of dress that is conspicuously traditional in essence. Women’s colorfully layered dresses, their Jewelry and ethnical dances can be found extraordinarily enchanting.
